Statements on General Education
‧A university should provide its students with “higher education” instead of“post-secondary education.”
‧A university should empower its students with professional knowledge but it should not become a job-training center.
‧A university should provide its students with decent role models, so that students can envision the possibility of excellence or even greatness in themselves.
‧A university should inspire its students to pursue truth, so that students can become life-long learners.
‧A university should foster a healthy body, mind, and soul for all students.
‧A university should encourage students to care more about local and global issues and be willing to participate in social actions. Students would become cultural persons who appreciate the human legacy of arts and humanities and scientific persons with critical thinking. They would also become persons who cherish life and honor the dignity of each and every individual.
